Robert Marion Koczian, 66, of Simi Valley, California, passed away peacefully at his home on July 7, 2018, to return to the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father for eternal rest.

A memorial service in celebration of his life, will be held at Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley, on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10am with Reverend Jonathan Mulford officiating. Cremation will be handled by Rose Family Funeral Home.

Robert was born in New York City, New York to Frank and Felicia on May 21, 1952. He attended Rio Mesa High School and graduated in 1970. After high school, he enrolled in the Seafarers International Union’s Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship at Piney Point, Maryland, where he trained to become a Merchant Marine. In his role as a Merchant Marine he delivered war supplies and munitions to the United States military combat zones during the Vietnam war. For the remainder of his career, Robert was employed as a Mechanical Designer, briefly in the Entertainment industry, but mainly the Aerospace industry, where he served dutifully for more than 35 years before his disability retirement in 2016. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and pets. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and boating, playing guitar, traveling, and basking in the sunshine.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Anita, their children Blake, Kayla, and Jessica, his granddaughter Carolina, sisters Linda and Felicia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Felicia, his father Frank, his son Adam and his brother Frank “Skip”.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and support staff at Buena Vista Hospice for their dignified and compassionate care, as well as to all those who have supported them during this time of loss.
