My condolences to Norma, Harry & Teddy. I was in a relationship with Matt more than 40 years ago, when I was 20 or 21. We were together for six years. Matt and I have kept in touch over the years. Our last contact, via e-mail, was approximately ten years ago, not knowing it would be the last time we spoke. I found out about Matt's passing this morning.
Rest in Eternal Peace, Matthew.
Marilyn

I just had a dream about my dear and beloved friend Matthew. I sat in a Church to thank him for his unending unselfish help. My dad, who also passed away recently always said, "Will you ever find another like him?" He resided in the city of Gardena for over 20+ years. Better yet, I inherited a tenant worth his weight in gold. Always ready to assist with a smile and laughter. He was very technically savvy and always gave me good advice. He even helped in situations going over the edge with everyone in the rental units besides myself. I always missed him and asked about him after he moved up north to Taft. Although I spoke to him years later and have been enquiring about him, my dream has revealed where my beloved friend rests. I will forever owe you Matthew and keep you in my prayers. Your eternal friend Gustavo.

My deepest sympathies to Matthew's family. He has been a mentor and a friend for many at Honda. I really loved our runs to Fry's for computer parts during our lunch breaks. He was all smiles and had a good humored approach to life. We'll miss him.

Matthew, thinking back to when we were kids I don't think I ever remember you not being in your garage working on something mechanical. It was not surprising how quickly you excelled with Honda. They recognized and appreciated the genius in your mechanical skills. Seemed you did everything perfectly life. You were a special kind of gentleman. I will miss you dearly, my cousin. Love you

Matthew was my “little “ cousin eight years younger. We grew up living on the same street and eventually in the same building owned by our grandparents. Matthew ‘s Dad was also a self-taught master mechanic. My clearest memory of Matt is him sitting on the floor of his Dad’s garage dismantling some complex piece of equipment and then rebuilding it. I don’t think he was even in first grade yet. His natural talent was evident and awesome from an early age and he followed it without hesitation to a satisfying and successful career!
As all the cousins grew up and went our separate ways we were no longer a part of one another’s daily lives, but the bond stayed strong. We have gotten together for Christmas lunches, always for significant life events and occasionally some us have taken a sentimental journey to the “old neighborhood “ where we grew up together. I have a treasured picture of Matthew and I standing on the steps of the 4-family flat where Our families lived. My hair is graying and his is thinning in that picture, but we’re both smiling remembering those childhood days.
God Bless you cousin. May your soul Rest In Peace and God’s perpetual light shine upon you.

My dear cousin, you will be missed. I remember our early childhood. We were neighbors and spent a lot of time together. You were always working on my tricycle.
Many times you took it apart and put it back together. You were already chosen to be a master mechanic and also a great photographer.
I'm so grateful you came to my home and we spent the day together, while we were still able to reminisce. I was looking for the picture of us together at our first communion, you looked so cute in your white suit with me in my white dress and veil.
I will always cherish my memories of you .I will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.
With Love Always,
Your Cousin Lexie
