Many prayers of peace and love are sent your way. Everyone has their own special memories of conversations or activities with John. He made such an impression on us all.
My father and John had wood working and military service connection (different wars though). Mary Frances, now 99, and John had endless conversations. Siblings: Mick, John, Jude and Matt (camping, building development, business, art) are sending warmest of wishes and condolences for this unexpected loss. My cousins fondly remember the conversations about traveling overseas to meet relatives. John’s gifts were unmeasurable. Happy thoughts!

Dear Family,
I am truly sorry for your loss. John will be missed but never forgotten. He has a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
My perspective of John was well written in his memorial by his adored and beautiful daughters, Julie and Laura. He loved talking about them and their achievements and was so very proud of them. The girls were able to capture John’s strength, passion, determination, and fortitude for life.
John’s many talents and his ability to express his knowledge respectfully opened up doors for others to achieve skills for life or relaxation.
Thank you for including me in your life and being my “Fred Astaire”.

Remembering all the hijinks growing up in the Ferry Pass neighborhood, back in the good old days of the '50's nostalgically. It's a wonder we made it through alive.

One of John's proudest achievements was earning his commission and Naval Aviator wings through the Marine Aviation Cadet (MARCAD) Program. Here is his Pre-Flight School yearbook photo as a member of Class 15-63.

Johnny visited Mike and me in the North Georgia mountains in 2008. Here we are at DeSoto Falls in the Chestatee Wildlife Management Area. We had a great time exploring the area.

I met John while researching a common ancestor. It just so happened that I lived only about a half mile from his Ancestors old homestead and his grave. John planned a trip to my house and stayed two weeks. The start of a great friendship began that day. Over the years John made several trips to stay with me. In between times we kept in contact by phone. He was a very interesting man who lived a very active and interesting life. We had a great connection on that first meeting and it lasted throughout our friendship. His conversations told me he loved life and a prouder father of his two daughters you will never find. I will miss you my friend. It's a good thing you love to fly.
