Please share a memory of Jeanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanne Poltrock passed away in Simi Valley on February 9, 2013. Jeanne was born August 5, 1926 in Bellingham, Washington, to Oren and Bertha Long. She was raised in a Navy family, attending elementary school in San Diego and beginning high school in Oahu, Hawaii. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, she and her family were evacuated to Redmond, Washington, where she finished high school and married Robert Poltrock. They lived in Seattle, Washington, where Robert was a policeman and where they raised their two children, Steven and Mary. In 1975 they retired and moved to Encinitas, California, where Jeanne enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and socializing with her many friends. Jeanne loved dogs but didn't have one of her own, and she often walked dogs or took care of dogs for her friends. Difficulty breathing forced Jeanne to give up golf and dog walking, and she moved to Vintage Simi Hills for an easier life. Jeanne loved joking and talking with friends and happily chatted with everyone she met. Her joy in life will be greatly missed. Jeanne is survived by her son Steven Poltrock (wife: Franca), her daughter Mary Cortell of Simi Valley, her granddaughter Debbie Compton (husband: Richard), and her great grandsons Corey, Levi, and Skylar.
