Tia Carmen was the best! She was one of a kind. She had a way that would make you feel blessed, energized and happy to be alive.
When my dad died, I was sent this poem from a co-worker:
As long as hearts remember
As long as hearts still care
We do not part with those we love
They're with us everywhere
Tia Carmen was and is loved. The beauty of her life with be with me always, she will always be remembered. Especially when the flowers bloom in the spring!

My Madrina Carmela was a very sweet and gentle woman with a quick sense of humor. The last time my parents and I visited her, we laughed so much at the antics she and my mother got into as young teenagers. I enjoyed hearing her stories and seeing how much joy she got retelling them. She also gave us a tour of her backyard garden. It was filled with so many fruit trees! She wanted to make sure we got to sample a little of everything and prepared several bags of fruit to take home. If that wasn't enough, she made sure we took home some lunch and dessert too! It was so like her to always put others first. I will miss her.

I feel truly blessed to have been able to spend the time with Carmen that I did .. she was always smiling, gracious and kind to me .. and my dog, Koda... I know she is in heaven now, at peace, pain-free, surrounded by animals & shining down on all of us .. I look forward to the time when I will see her again & she’ll hug me and touch my face & call me “Susie”...
