Obituary of Donald Tony Skinner
As many of you may have heard on August 25, 2020, my father Tony Skinner passed away after having a heart failure at IBEW local 952. Due to COVID, we will not be having a service but once restrictions on large gatherings are lifted we plan to have something for all to attend at 952. It is not ideal to have to wait but the time will allow us to have less tears and more stories and laughs to share. We can truly make it the celebration of life he wanted. Thank you to those who sent flowers to 952. For anyone else, in lieu of flowers I have contacted ACE Charter School and set up a donation page in his name. This is the school my father helped set up and of all the things he did, this is one of the things he was most proud of. If you can't give financially, you can still honor his memory by continuing to attend to all those things he encouraged you to. Support your local unions and politicians and buy local products. The Ventura County Star has a nice article on my father. They say the measure of a person is how many lives they affected. He trully did affect a lot of lives. It has been really great to see so many people reach out and share a story with myself, 952 or buliding trades. Thank you very much.
