To the Kaufmann family,
So very sorry for your loss. All humans feel this unnatural sting of death and its only natural to comfort each other. The scriptures impart hope at James 5:28,29 that we can see our loved ones again and without the circumstances we currently live in. Jesus calling our loved ones to life in paradise, here on earth, without death.
The scriptures have been provided to give comfort and show us what Gods loving plan is for those who enter rest. Take peace. For comfort from the Bible, please visit https://bit.ly/truthlifedeath

Carol Sue was first girl I met when I went to Boston University. She sat beside me the first day of class and we have been life-long friends since then. We had many years of great memories between Boston, the Cape Cod, California, and other traveling experiences.
The attached picture was taken at the Cape Cod when her dear friend Sophia was visiting from Greece. Carol Sue will surely be missed. She was articulate, brave, intelligent, caring and resourceful. Rest in peace dear friend!

I was so fortunate the day I met Carol Sue. We were in a knitting group at the Westfield Topanga Mall where many of us knitted for charity. Carol Sue was always knitting for different causes. Many were the lucky recipients of her neck warmers. She knit beautiful baby garments and introduced us to Operation Gratitude among other organizations.
We were both obsessed with our Golden Retriever rescues and often shared stories of our pups' antics.
Meeting Carol Sue has enriched my life in so many ways. I always loved the way she dressed for the holidays and was always so put together. Even her home was decorated for the holidays down to each little detail. She always had a smile on her face and looked at life in such a positive manner. She was so proud of her family.. She will be greatly missed.

I met Carol Sue later in life and my love and respect for her grew over the years. She thoughtfully always remembered birthdays and special occasions in our lives. She loved Christmas, as we all know, and beautifully decorating her home and artfully wrapping gifts. And I will miss her lovely hand made gifts. I will especially miss her trips here to Massachusetts and relaxing over a cup of coffee with my friend. Rest in peace dear friend.

How I already miss Carol Sue! We met at Boston University in the late 1950's at Kappa Omega sorority and have stayed in touch ever since. While she was in California and I in Massachusetts, we gabbed on the phone often and would see each other when she came to Boston.
Carol Sue was a brave and courageous soul and seldom complained about her treatments and discomfort. But what I will miss most is her kindness and unique personality. She loved her family and was a true friend.
Hers was a life well lived!

Carol Sue was a classmate through grammar and high school in Salisbury and Amesbury Mass. I was so glad to reconnect with her at several AHS reunions over the years. In recent years, we met - with other classmates - for lunch on many of her visits to Massachusetts. She was always so positive, caring, and full of love and joy. Our little Salisbury MA lunch group always looked forward to her visits here. Lunch that day was full of her news and catching up. I will miss those visits very much. Condolences to her family.

My heart hurts for you all...
Carol Sue was a FORCE to be sure. She had the big heart energy and sass to boot. I always knew there would be lots of laughter when I hung out with Kirst and Carol Sue was home. Listening to them sass each other with that love behind it was a hoot! Sending love and light...

I’ve been friends with Karen since 1967 and would hang out at Carol Sue and Walter’s house who were our neighbors. Karen and I used to sneak marshmallows out of Carol Sue’s cupboard (then probably blamed Heidi or Kirsten). She adored her dogs Misty and Chipper. She was full of life and had such a young vibe. I can still hear her strong, clear voice. All my love and condolences to Karen, Heidi and Kirsten ❤️

Carol Sue was such an incredible spirit. My heart is still so broken from her passing. Her light shined beyond. Her desserts were so delicious. Tommy and I were so lucky to get to have so many of her yummy snacks and her thoughtful gifts around the holidays. She was truly the best neighbor that we’ve ever had; her and Kirsten. We miss her immensely already. It didn’t take long for her to feel like family. I will miss her forever. We love you guys

I will miss my wonderful friend Carol Sue who kept me connected to our friends in California. Loved talking to her.and was very surprised at her sudden death. I thought her health was improving as her voice was so strong on the phone as she filled me in on all the news.

I have so many warm memories of Carol Sue from the 1960s forward while raising our families. She was fun to be with, sharing long conversations and lunches at Marmalade when i came to town to see her and my son who lived nearby. May she rest in peace and love.

Can’t say enough good things about Carol Sue.

I knocked on Carol Sue door one day just working my business as a real estate agent. I had lost my mom the year before and I think she put Carol Sue in my life. I knocked on Carol Sue door and she opened it. From there we became fast friends. She filled a place in my heart that has been empty from the loss of my mother. She talk to me like I was one of her kids she was sassy, funny, and a very loyal person. I will miss her.

I was one of Carol Sues dearest friends for many, many years. I worked at Boston University in the Freshman Admissions Office in the early 1960's and Carol Sue was a student and worked for me as my assistant. We became fast friends, double dated and had so much in common, and so much fun together. When she graduated, she got a job at Lab for Electronics on Commonwealth Avenue, Boston and there was an opening there. She called me, I interviewed and got the job. We both worked for Managers of departments there and our friendship grew stronger. When she decided to head to California it was a sad day for both of us, but she was excited when she met Walter and his daughter and was going to get married.. We have communicated over the years. We wrote, called each other and saw each other when she came back to Massachusetts.
I knew she was ill but very positive about her treatment. We communicated often by phone. I am so sad about her passing and will miss our talks but just know that she loved her children and grandchildren so much and talked to me about all of you all the time.
My deepest sympathy is with you all and you are all in my prayers. I will light a candle in her honor Sunday when I go to Mass. She will never be forgotten. Fondly, Esther DeMartin

I am Tish Offutt (nee Laetitia Warren). Sue and I were roomies (apartment mates) at the University of California Berkeley in the Very Early 60’s. I was a graduate student music major at the time. So, you see, our friendship goes back almost to the Dark Ages!
I met my husband-to-be, Dave Offutt, one memorable evening at a local beer hangout off campus. It was the evening of semester finals for first-year aspiring law students. Dave joined our group, along with a friend of mine whom I had known since I was 3 years old in Santa Clara, CA! Bobette (nee) Hayes was Dave’s classmate in law school. She had her own plans for the evening as did I, but I felt compelled to ask Dave to meet my roommate so he could join the rest of the couples going to San Francisco for the evening. When he finally arrived at our apartment, he’d had an extra beer or two and decided that he wasn’t up to going out….with a Boston Crab!
Our friendship endured that gaff and we, Dave included, have laughed about it ever since. CS and I never lost track of each other over these last 62 years, sharing Christmas letters and occasional telephone visits…but, sadly, never seeing each other in person again.
She will be missed by all those who loved her – her energy – her enthusiasm for life…and by me her “roomie” of many years ago and a friend forever.

I only knew Carol Sue by talking on the phone, but I believe she was a high school girlfriend of my husband, Richard E. Briggs. They both graduated from Amesbury High School and remained friends over the years. I think they wrote letters and spoke a lot on the telephone. I think she visited with him when he was at his summer place in Colchester, Vermont. I'm glad that they were able to reconnect and relive fond memories. Dick passed away in December, 2019. Strange how so many seem to go close to holiday time.
I am truly sorry for your loss and can only encourage you to look back on all the happy memories. Getting through this Christmas may very well be the most difficult.
My genuine condolences to the family.

This amazing woman has always been in my life, countless memories. Always there for me and no matter what age I was, whenever I called her on the phone “Hi, Aunt Suzy — ever time the immediate response was Hi, Honey”. 13 years ago I got the most amazing scarf to help with my winters!
