38 years ago, I met a fellow Nurse that became a Sister from another Mother.
Dolores Marie Lubin was truly called to be a Nurse and lived the lifestyle through special moments that made a huge difference in the lives of everyone who knew her. She didn’t just step into people’s lives, she stayed. She was: always a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, a heart full of empathy and compassion, the calming, quiet presence during a storm, the excitement when celebrating someone’s milestone, the silent uplifting glance that was expertly timed, the gentle touch and firm push of encouragement, a witness to humanity – its beauty – in good times and bad – without judgment, able to embrace the woes of the world, willingly, and offer hope, and genuinely true friendship to everyone that was blessed to know her.
A wonderful Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
She will be greatly missed by many – Gods speed my wonderful friend – until we meet again.

I met Dolores in the late 1980’s when she came to work in general surgery . She was a wonderful nurse and became my good friend. I talked to her every day since I retired. I will miss her so much. Mary Phillis

To Rebekah and Family:
I was so saddened to hear of the loss of such an amazing person. I met Dolores in 1988 when I started working for Kaiser in the Vascular surgery department. We worked together for nearly 20 years before I transferred to another Kaiser. We shared many life events together including life happenings like the birth of my daughter, milestones of her daughter Rebekah, moving, health challenges, and even the death of her beloved husband Lee many years ago. She also attended my daughter's high school graduation party. I often kidded her about not being able to drive the "freeways". She was the kindest and one of the most genuine people I know. She was always willing to help in any way she could. We often chatted about dreams for the future and what we would do in retirement. Even after I left Woodland Hills, she would stay in touch with cards and calls. Occasionally, I would run into her in Simi at Walmart after she overcame some of her fear of driving the freeway, lol. I always enjoyed receiving her holiday cards. She was a special , one of a kind , human being and I will greatly miss her.

To Rebekah and all of Dolores‘s family I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Dolores 35 years ago when I started working at Kaiser. I would float to vascular surgery and general surgery where she worked. Dolores was always so sweet to me. She attended my wedding and she babysat for my daughter Kaylin. Dolores and her family lived down the street from us for anw and we would carpool together to work. IIf it was raining Dolores didn’t like to drive in the rain so if it was her turn to drive I would do that for her on rainy days. Dolores's and Rebekah always sent our family like she did
I’m sure for all her friends and family holiday cards. She always remembered and thought of her family and friends first. I don’t think I’ve ever met a more loving and giving person in my life than Dolores. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
Love you,
Amy, Bruce and Kaylin
