Obituary of Janet Becker

Janet Lynn Becker, 59, of Thousand Oaks, died at home Sunday January 26th, 2014 . She was born to the late Dale and Harriette Springer, Sept. 20, 1954, in Centerville, OH. Jan graduated from Centerville High School class of 1972 and received a BA in Education from Ohio University and an MA in curriculum and supervision from Ashland University. Jan was an elementary school teacher until she retired in 2008 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. Jan was an active member of Conejo Church. She loved the Lord and was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, helping believers walk intimately with Christ. Jan is survived by her mother, Harriette Springer; two brothers Larry and Dana Springer; three children: Shawn Denham, Hope Hoekstra and Jaimie Denham. She is also survived by her husband Michael Becker and his two daughters Melissa and Stephanie Becker, as well as her only grandson Brayden Basil. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to: Kindom Center 1450 S. Rose Ave. Oxnard, CA 93033. Phone 805-487-3400.
