Obituary of Chrystal Mae Parlier

Chrystal Mae Parlier passed away peacefully at her home in Thousand Oaks on June 29, 2014. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. Chrystal was a loving wife, mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother and friend.
Born in Springfield, Illinois, on May 7, 1929, to Fred and Irene Hart, Chrystal worked at Meyer’s Brothers and Bressmer’s Department stores as well as Sangamo Electric before moving to California with her family in 1955. She worked at Bullock’s Wilshire Department Store in Beverly Hills including modeling clothes. Chrystal moved to Thousand Oaks and became a full-time homemaker in 1964. Chrystal’s family was her treasure and joy through every generation.
Chrystal is survived by her loving husband, Norman, her children: Patricia Parlier-Cook of Newbury Park, CA and Michael (Merilee) Parlier of Wood Ranch, CA; grand-children: Kimberly (Anthony) Curtis of Kansas City, MO, Kelly (Steffani) Abercrombie of Jackson, CA, Micki (Kenneth) Hazz of Newbury Park, CA, and Timothy (Allison) Parlier of Encinitas, CA; and great-grandchildren: Joel, Sean, Andrew and Tacy Curtis, Haley and Harley Hazz, Natalie and Joshua Abercrombie, Makenna Cook and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family burial at Pierce Brothers Cemetery in Westlake Village at 11:00 AM on July 10. Rose Family Funeral Home in Simi Valley is handling arrangements (805-581-3800), and flowers may be ordered through or delivered to them for the service.
The family wishes to thank Roze Room Hospice of Ventura for the tender, loving care and support they provided during a very difficult time.
