Obituary of Mary Dolores Dominguez
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary Dominguez passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014, surrounded by loved ones. Her sudden death has left her family devastated with a great sense of loss. We know, however, this is exactly how she would choose to make her journey home. She is preceded in death by her parents: George and Dora Mayer, sisters: Georgia Darity and Glenda Myers, great grandchild: Baby Chandler, and nephew: Brian Myers.
Mary leaves behind her devoted husband, Tino. They recently celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. They have always had a unique understanding of one another that has stood the test of time. Mary will be dearly missed by her loving daughter, Debra. In many ways, they shared one spirit and it is a bond that will never be broken even in death. Mary is also survived by the light of her life, her granddaughter, Renee. No matter what Renee's pursuits have been in life, her Granny was always her biggest cheerleader. Renee's husband, Bryan is a welcome new addition to the family and happily adopted Mary and Tino as his grandparents. He became quite addicted to Mary's homemade raspberry jam.
Mary also leaves behind two sisters. Mary loved being the oldest sibling and enjoyed that role tremendously. Many times she told youngest sister, Jennifer that SHE was the engine and Jen was the caboose. Holiday competitions were a wonderful rivalry between Mary and Sharon. It was awesome to make one another jealous with decorating. Mary and her brother-in-law, Charlie enjoyed sharing corny jokes with one another and she shared a gardening passion with her nephew, Chuck. They would browse seed catalogs for hours and discuss planting strategies. As promised to her deceased sister, Glenda, she did her best to watch over nephews, James and Mark.
Mary was an extraordinary person with a heart of gold. She took in strays whether they had two legs or four legs. She never turned away anyone in need. Mary was an awesome cook. Even when death was near, she knew it was almost Thanksgiving and wanted to bake cookies. Her life was full and productive. She had many interests and hobbies. Gardening was especially fulfilling to Mary. It was a connection to her farm life background. She took great pride in her beautiful rose bushes and tomato plants. She loved music. She was an avid fan of Elvis and Johnny Cash. She also loved jam making, canning, crocheting, reading, crafting, collecting owls, and chili dogs.
Towards the end, as Mary was transitioning from her earthly life to her heavenly life, she spoke to deceased family members. It gives us great comfort to know that she left here surrounded by family and was being greeted on the other side by family.
Mary, you are forever in our hearts. Rest in sweet peace,
Your Loving Family
