Obituary of Bruce Leonard Clark
Please share a memory of Bruce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bruce Leonard Clark passed away unexpectedly January 28, 2015 in Newbury Park, California of a heart attack.
Bruce was born June 22, 1954 to Willard Leonard and Maurine Pedersen Clark. He was the first of 8 children raised by this family. At the age of 19, Bruce served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Michigan Lansing Mission.
He attended high school at Loveland High School where he graduated in 1972. He played trumpet in the school band, was on the gymnastics team, and was a diver on the swim team.
Bruce married Teresa L Haskell in 1976. He attended Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 1981. He worked in the construction industry all his career, first in his father’s construction company through his youth and after college graduation. In 1990 Bruce moved his family to California. There he continued in construction, advancing from field work to estimating and project management. Bruce enjoyed playing golf and could always be found in the garage making anything from furniture to jewelry.
He was preceded in death by his father Willard Clark. He is survived by his 4 children; Joshua, Leia, Susan (Paul), and Tristan and by 6 grandchildren, KaLani Campbell, Matthew Clark, Jonathan Clark, Jaxson Lapointe, Lily Bea Lapointe, and Bronson Lapointe.
The viewing and service will be held at the LDS church, 35 S. Wendy Drive, Newbury Park 91320 on Saturday February 7th at 10am. Burial will be held at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village 91363 at 1pm.
