Obituary of Ardis Newcomer

Thousand Oaks CA Ardis Marie Ripplemeyer Newcomer, Passed away September 30, 2011 at the age of 95 born October 8, 1915 in Greensburg PA Ardis Marie Newcomer was born in the early 1900's and throughout her life demonstrated creativity, courage & leadership. In her early 20's she was considered an example in women's entrepreneurship owning & operating 3 very successful studios of dance until such time as she traveled alone at a young age across country by train to California to be with her beloved husband, Frank. She was a fine homemaker after the birth of her two daughters, Jill & Jeri, devoting her time & energy to the family's welfare & happiness. She was always "there" with love, patience & her giving spirit. When the girls were in their teens, Ardis, once again sought a leadership role working for over 18 years for Vivian Woodard in Management. until her retirement. Ardis was considered by her friends & family as a beautiful, elegant woman full of love, kindness, laughter, strength & acceptance.....always with a sparkle in her eyes & joyful smile....truly a blessed soul in and out! "Ardis was a role model for us all"....."I always felt so good about myself & my life after being with Ardis"....."Mom was always herself...at ease....peaceful...while surrendering to even the most challenging situations....she never failed to amaze me!"....were some of the comments heard throughout her life.......She will be so missed by all who loved and knew her. Ardis is survived by her two daughters, Jill & Jeri and son-in-law, Walt. And her loving Granddaughters Brandee, Krista & Julie...."Grand-son-in-laws" John & Neal....and Great Grand Children, Tyler, Ansley, Emily, Alyssa, Madison, and Logan. Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 15, at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, California.
