Obituary of Charles Louis Mareno
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles L. Mareno, 83, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 after a very courageous battle with leukemia. Known as "Chuck", he is deeply missed by his devoted daughter Angela Mareno, son Greg Mareno and his wife Diana, and five grandchildren.
Chuck was born in Alabama in 1932. He was one of six children. He served in the Army in the Korean War and spent part of his commission in Japan. He eventually traveled West and settled in California. It is here where he met his wife, Loretta Kuszaj. They got married on September 16, 1961. They settled in Encino and later moved to Simi Valley in 1976.
Chuck was a barber by trade for over 50 years. He owned his own business, but most recently worked at Angelo's Barber Shop in Reseda. He loved going to work and being with his friends and golf buddies. He had many loyal customers and touched many lives.
Chuck was a country music aficionado. His biggest passions in life were family, playing golf, and Alabama football! He was blessed to see his favorite team, the Alabama Crimson Tide, win the National Championship on January 11, 2016. This made him very happy.
Chuck was an honest, generous, loving man that gave from the heart. He was an inspiration, pillar of strength, and a true southern gentleman. He was considered by all to be a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. He was truly loved and adored. Roll Tide!
